Alli Weight Loss Pills – The first FDA approved over the counter weight loss pills Obesity is the condition in which excess body fat begins to affect the general health of the person. Obesity affects the overall life expectancy of the persons affected as it is associated with various diseases such as certain kinds of diabetes and cancer, cardiovascular diseases, obstructive sleep apnea and osteoarthritis. Diet and exercises are the usual methods that are used to treat the problem, however, the condition is also treated through drugs and bariatric surgery. In most of the cases, it is caused by excessive energy intake compared to the basal metabolic rate of the body whereas rest of the cases are explained on account of genetic reasons or psychiatric illnesses. Since the instances of obesity are on the rise, it is viewed as a serious health problem by the authorities. Alli, pronounced as ally, is a half dose version of an anti obesity prescription drug, Xenical which has Orlistat as its active ingredient. Orlistat attaches itself to the natural enzymes occurring in the digestive system of the body, thus reducing the fat absorption during the digestion process. Alli is considered to be safe for use over long term. It is available at most of the retailers' stores, and some of the online retail stores as well. Important In order to be eligible to purchase the product, you need to be 21 years of age or older.

I've been taking this product for two years now. It was prescribed by my doctor after I stopped smoking and gained quite a bit of weight. I lost 60 pounds but also dieted vigorously and exercised regularly at the gym on the treadmill for 35 minutes. Oily discharge sometimes? you bet, but only when I ate meals with a high fat content. Couple bits of advice: if you feel like you need to fart, don't. You can't be sure of what will come out. Restrain yourself until you get to a toilet, just in case. Also, not only fried chicken and fried food have fat. Any kind of red meat has fat content. Rule of thumb for me is if calories from fat are high, I take a pill with the meal. This product is a lifesaver but it only works with diet and exercise. ( Reply )

I dieted for about a month with very meager results. 1200 calories a day, and I lost only about 1.5 pounds per week. When I started the Alli pills my weight loss more than doubled. It has slightly tapered off over time, but it's obviously had a dramatic effect and I have lost about 25 pounds surprisngly quickly. I still eat fatty meals at times (15 grams of fat per meal is recommended but I find this too restrictive), yet the side effects are still pretty minor. When I eat lower fat meals they are nonexistant. They also seem to descrease over time. ( Reply )

Trying it for past 10 days. I had already started exercise (Curves), and watching my diet, and was beginning to see progress - slowly. I think the "treatment effects" are exaggerated as "worst case" - ie if you are stlil going to eat pizza, french fries, and fast food you will see the "effects" of that menu passing through you. And, frankly if you are on that type of a diet (I was) you were likely having similar "effects" already (I was)! I don't know yet whether Alli will give a boost to my ongoing weight loss, but I have not experienced any of the horror effects discussed. Occasionally some orange oil in my stool - which lets me know I ate something with fat that didn't absorb - and that is, oddly, comforting. ( Reply )

I have been on the plan for one week and lost 5 pounds! I followed the instructions and limitted my fat intake to under 15 grams per meal and kept to my recommended calorie intake. I did more walking than I usually do. For about three of my meals this week, I forgot to take the pill, but I still lost 5 pounds. As for treatment effects, they are no worse than before I started taking Alli for example when I ate products like CarbSmart icecream which has Splenda in it but a high fat content or when I used to eat fried chicken. I just do like other reviewers on this site have recommended and get to a bathroom if I even slightly feel the urge to go. For someone like myself who has been struggling to lose weight for the past three years, this product is very helpful and is helping me to make the committment to lose weight. Before Alli, I gave up on other diet and exercise plans because the weight would not come off as quickly as I'd hope and that would leave me feeling very frustrated so I stopped dieting too soon. I plan on continuing with Alli and with results like these I will succeed where I failed in the past because I will see the weight come off a bit faster. As another reviewer stated, Alli will help me stick to the program because instead of taking 6-8 months to lose 50 pounds, with Alli I can hopefully cut that down to 4-5 months or less! ( Reply )

I've been using Alli now since the middle of November, and I've lost 12 pounds, on schedule with the promised 1-2 pounds of safe weight loss per week. They have a very robust online support site for people who purchase the pills and it provides useful tracking of weight loss and encouragement in more ways than I can use. The treatment effects that you read about are what keeps people honest with Alli and essentially make it work -- if you eat too much fat at one sitting, you'll be visiting the bathroom quite frequently. You learn quick. I made it through the holidays with continued weight loss, which I view as an amazing feat. I have 13 more pounds to lose on my plan and I'll weigh what I did before I had my two kids. Easy to use, promotes healthy eating habits and lifestyle changes, and self-critiquing when you stray from the plan. I would recommend Alli to others -- it's a little pricy but I'm getting my money's worth out of it. ( Reply )

I have been using Alli for over 2 months and have seen great results. Even though I don't always stay under the daily calories its a pill that I take with my meals that makes me want to stay under 19 grams of fat, so is a motivater in a pill. People talk about Treatment Effects. I have had some, but they aren't bad and if you know you ate something bad, just prepare and use more protection ( with your normal undergarments for the possible oil leakage, I know gross but better coming out then staying in). Never had I had any horrible TE's, its been a easy ride and I will continue to take my Alli as it keeps my diet in check. ( Reply )

If you want to see results this product will give you your money's worth! Take as directed and follow the instructions, this is not for those who want to overeat and get rid of the fat. I tried that at first and boy oh boy, I was sorry and you will be too! Good luck! ( Reply )

I tried this product at the beginning of the summer and found that it worked, I lost ten pounds. It did it slowly because for a while I wasn't sure it was working. I have to admit that I too suffered the side effects from eating high fat. So instead of making adjustments to my diet I got angry and stopped taking it after a huge embarrassment (you don't want to know). I guess I didn't relize how well it was working because I'm gaining the ten pounds back. Now the delemma is which is worse the weight or the oily gas. I decided that I want to try this again but with the help of a nutritionist because I have trouble with portion control and how to count up fat in non pre packaged foods. I'm delightd that it works but I need to tweak the diet to make it better. The books that come with the starter are helpful and encouraging and I loved the little pill case it comes with because it fits in my walet. Five stars for working but four for the side effects, which I'm sure people with say its my own fault. ( Reply )

The product is great! I am a former user of Xenical; therefore, I was already familiar with the side effects, etc. I would recommend the product to anyone that wants to lose weight in a healthy manner. My only complaint is with the seller's of these refill bottles. The refills should come with a "registration number," for participation on the "Alli" website, and my product did not. In the future, I will only purchase from those seller's that offer the registration info with the product. ( Reply )

I have been using Alli now for about a month. I have hashimoto's disease and no thyroid gland so my metabolism is almost zero. I have been on a low calorie diet for a couple of months now. Even though I am slow at losing weight I have been able to lose six pounds with the help of Alli. I haven't had any side effects yet, but I am on a really low fat diet. I make sure I don't eat any high fat, so as not to experience any of the side effects of Alli when eating more than 15 grams of fat. At the beginning of this diet I only lost two pounds the first month and then I began talking Alli. This month I lost four pounds and that is a lot for me. I am sure someone with a normal metabolism could do much better. I believe this to be a good product based on my experiences so far. Carol A. Moore ( Reply )

Let me preface this by saying that I am not overweight in the least, but I work with people who are. I used to weigh 245lbs, but am now down into the 160s and have become a personal trainer. I know of just about every weightloss product on the market and could tell you whether or not it will work. I lost all of my weight with solely diet and exercise, but I can understand those who need a bit of help. One of my clients recently asked me if it would be a good idea for her to take this Alli supplement to help her lose weight. I asked her what was in it, and she said she didn't know, so I looked it up. It sounded legitimate enough, except for the "treatment effects". Essentially, Alli contains a compound called orlistat which binds to fats in your digestive tract, and carries them out of the body instead of allowing them to be absorbed. So, I decided to purchase a 120 pack to test it for myself before I let someone else go at it without me knowing about it. I should also say that I eat extremely healthy, and while I may eat a good amount of fat, it is all good fat (I only cook with olive, or canola oil, eat lean chicken or fish regularly with red meats about once a week, 50% of a meal is always vegetables and fruits, take 3g fish and 3g flax oil supplements everyday, and eat a few ounces of almonds throughout the day. Daily intake is around 1800-2000cal depending on the day). So, the first day I took one with each meal and didn't notice anything. I was ready to write this pill off as hype, until the second day (today). I woke up, went to class and felt like passing gas. Thank god against my good judgement I didn't, because I let it out in the car and immediately felt my underwear become wet. I couldn't believe it when I went home and had a bowel movement that the toilet was covered in orange oil which was the fat the pill removed. It smells horrid and is hard to remove. Therefore, I give this product a 3 star rating because it does exactly what it advertises. It removes excess fat from your body by passing it through your digestive system. However, if you aren't prepared, you can easily embarrass yourself with the product's treatment effects. Also, the product makes it harder for the body to take up fat soluble vitamins, so a multivitamin is a must. So, if you eat a lot of fat, this product won't really change anything for you like a thermogenic will, but it will show you and force you to eat less fat. Hope that helps. -Dave ( Reply )

I was really worried, around the holidays, that all the extra goodies around the house would destroy the progress I had made on my diet. i gave in to temptation and ate more than I like to admit, but thanks to ALLI I didn't gain back any of the weight. ( Reply )

I used "Zenical" under a prescription, and I was glad when it was approved for over-the-counter use as 'Alli'. As Zenical this product came in 120mg strength, but it was costing me over $190 for a 1-month supply. The Alli product represents a great reduction in monthly cost. Even at two 60mg pills per one 120mg pill, it costs about half as much as the prescribed product. I did get some cramping when I first started using it, but that only lasted a few days, and it wasn't unbearable. It's very important to read all of the literature that comes with this product, and to understand the expectations and benefits. This is not an appetite suppressant; it IS a great tool to assist you in modifying your consumption of fat. You should use this product only if your physician has provided you with a sensible diet that focuses on reducing total fat intake. In that context, it is very effective. ( Reply )

Alli- Orlistat Weightloss Aid Formula, 240ct Refill Pack Good Product at great price. This is not to be used by someone in the initial stages or as your first try. Does not include the support material to get started which is VERY IMPORTANT. The only thing that would make it better is if the company would offer free shipping. Ships quickly. ( Reply )

This is not going to make you look like Paris Hilton by tomorrow. If that's what you're looking for, see a psychiatrist rather than an endochrinologist! This is not going to keep you from being hungry. There's plenty of junk on the pharmacy & "herbal supplement" store shelves for that. What it will do, is mitigate some of the fat you eat. If you have an extremely low-fat diet, it will do nothing for you. If you have an extremely high-fat diet (i.e. an American) it will do lots. My credentials: I've been taking doctor-prescribed Xenical for a several years now. I've recently switched to Alli, because it is the exact same chemical ingredient (Orlistat) at exactly half the dose, and is significantly cheaper. My results: When I started, I weighed 320 lbs. I now weigh 240. Now, I can't give all that credit to Alli, because in the two years it took me to lose the 80 pounds, there were numerous other factors to consider. Mostly, changes in my medication for type 2 diabetes. But the important point is, there was no change in diet or exercise over that period. Makes it a pretty good success story in my book. Point 1) All of the other diet drugs fall into a couple of categories. One of which is the "appetite suppressant" group. Means nothing to me, because I'm never fighting my appetite. I eat well (and, according to two diabetic dieticians, appropriately) so I seldom get so hungry I have to binge. I understand the phenomenon, (on the rare occasion I miss two meals in a row, I'm ready to main-line Sugar Pops) and feel truly sorry for those who experience constant hunger, but Alli won't help that. The second group are the "Metabolism Stimulants". You want to take "uppers" to lose weight? You deserve everything that happens to you. It's not for me. And Alli won't help you with that, either. The point is THEY ARE ALL DRUGS, by definition. They enter the bloodstream and work on some chemical or organ in some way. Problem is, you expose every cell in your body to every one of them. Side-effect galore. Alli is not a drug. It never leaves your gastro-intestinal tract. Pie-hole to Hershey highway, no destructive stops along the way. The so-called side-effects are identical to the effects of particular foods. Sure, they are real, and maybe you can't live with them, but it's nothing compared to the potential damage from the other drugs & herbs. So the point is that this food additive stands alone as a non-drug alternative to weight loss. If you're like me and are plagued by half the side-effects listed of about every drug on the shelf, then this (and insulin) won't hurt you. Point 2) This will mitigate a high-fat diet to some degree. Literally can't live without some bacon in the morning? Some animal must die for you have eaten well? Think of butter as a beverage? Well, stage one is "don't eat like that". Once you determined that your quality of life is more important than the advice of the putz from stage one, move on to stage two. Alli's whole deal is to simply bind with the fat you've eaten and pass it through. So with no change in your diet, you'll be eating less fat. Period. It's tough to imagine a scenario where reducing the fat in your diet isn't a good thing. (Fat soluble poisons collected in your system? You're already Paris Hilton? Macrobiotic? O.K., then move on. Everyone else, line up.) Point 3) As I said before, the side-effects do exist. With practice and good sphincter muscle control, you will be able to skywrite. Six-hour staff meetings are a thing of the past. In the worst cases, keep a spare pair of BVD's handy. (That one's right from the manufacturer. Believe them.) Basically, if you've ever had a bowl of my chili, you'll be fine. If your fastidious about your "number two" habits, you might want to give it a miss. Oh, and don't miss a day. I believe the ballistic equivalent would be called a "sabot". I won't go into further detail here. Just trust me. So, to summarize: It won't help you with your appetite. It won't affect your metabolism. It will remove some amount of fat from your diet. It will give you the green apple quick step. It will help with diabetes. (Lowered my average blood sugar by 50 points!) It will take time to lose weight. (But hey, I should be the "Jarod" of Alli. It does work.) It will lighten your wallet. ( Reply )

I had the opportunity to try Xenical first but couldn't get a refill so I started taking Alli, a double dose to equal the prescription. It works but doesn't seem to work as well as the prescription does, even though it is supposed to be the exact same. I lost more weight quicker with Xenical. The product does make you cautious about the fat content you eat becaue, if it isn't stored, there's only one place it can go and it does. ( Reply )

I tried it for a month. Because it was approved by the FDA I felt safe trying it. The side effects are awful. My hiking was put on hold for a month because I couldn't stray too far from a bathroom. This product gives you gas but not just gas - a disgusting oily, yellow discharge also. You know that feeling you have when your body is telling you it needs to get rid of solid waste, well you start losing your ability to control these muscles, and are lucky if you make it to the bathroom on time. I lost 3 lbs in three weeks (1 lb./week) which is not bad but then I gained the 3 lbs back and an additional 2lbs. Can't understand it because I am watching what I eat. This product causes too much distress in your body so be warned before trying it. It seems my grandmother was right. Just exercise and the weight will come off. Ah, excuse me, I have to run to the bathroom again. Arrgh! ( Reply )

I'm not yet sure if I like Alli. It took 3 days for the first effects to show up, which resulted in a quick change of clothes. So my advice is to follow the rules and switch to a low-fat diet for 3 days before you start taking it. Then I lost about 1.5 lbs in 10 days. Not great, but not bad either. Then the confusing part... in the last couple of days, with no diet changes, I went back up to my original weight. Water weight? I don't know yet. Now for some facts. You'll be shocked at how much fat you've been consuming, because you'll see an oil slick in the toilet. The oil is orange and smelly, and it sticks to the toilet bowl. (I have to clean mine 3 times a day.) Alli works in two ways. First, you aren't absorbing as many calories through fat. Second, you have bowel movements up to 5 times a day. (All that oil that you aren't absorbing lubes the digestive tract.) The Mayo clinic says that Orlistat produces an average weight loss of 6 lbs per year. Because Alli is a weaker version of Orlistat, they predict a weight loss of 3 lbs per year. That's not a lot of weight for the money you'll spend on Alli. Want the same effect for less? Use jam on your toast instead of butter. Switch to fat-free sour cream, salad dressings, and cheese. Have one piece of bacon, not two. Eat chicken, not beef. Scramble your eggs, don't fry them. Eat veggie pizza, not pepperoni. Bottom line... I'm going to keep taking Alli until my current supply runs out and then evaluate if it was worth the money. ( Reply )

Hello, I started taking this product on Monday. Today is the Saturday after, only 6 days later. I have been doing EXACTLY what the book says to do, by eating a low fat diet, (mostly frozen weight watcher meals), Exercising (so far 30-45 min on the treadmill 4x this week), and taking one capsule with each meal 3x a day. I have had ZERO problems or "treatment effects". I am 6.75 pounds lighter than I was on Monday! I'm sure some of it is water weight, as they say.. but still.. I'm very impressed by the results. I'm sure that the weight loss will slow down next week, but you never know... we shall see! Just thought I'd share that, and also.. the fact, that I bought my supply at Costco. Costco has the 150 count starter kit for around $65, much less than on here. It's definitely worth the trip to Costco! Alli has helped me get some quick results for ONE of my New Year's Resolutions. I already have noticed the difference... but EXERCISE has alot to do with that as well! My blood pressure is lower and my blood sugar seems to have stabilized more! When you purchase this starter kit, you get small booklets filled with info about Recipes, Calories in foods, Exercise plans, etc, but the BEST PART is a code that lets you into to use the FULL Alli Website. I program websites myself, and I was very impressed with the Alli website, and how it fully supports you through your weight loss. This website is similar to what Weight Watcher CHARGES for access to their tools online, but it's FREE with your starter kit purchase. Tools for planning meals, calculating how many calories and fat grams that YOU PERSONALLY should eat every day, it even prints out a shopping list for the grocery store! The website has tools for planning out workouts and cardio training. It even has places too chat with other Alli users, which means that the website is a small support community! Very well done Alli! Wow! Alli is not an answer to itself... Exercise, and the Low-Fat Diet is a MUST! If you eat too much fat, I've heard horror stories about people losing it in their pants. So you have to stick to the plan! And actually... the thought of crapping my pants, is a good stimulus to not eat fattening food! So for me, it actually has helped me stay away from fattening food when I'm "in the moment of temptation". Good luck to everyone! Happy New Year. Doug :) ( Reply )

Don't expect some pill to magically take the weight away to never-ever land. It takes time and exercise. But this pill helps. You do loss much more weight and the quick results are encouraging. But if you don't eat a low fat diet, you will have issues controlling your bowels and it will end up on your pants. My husband started at 360, 4 weeks later he's at 320. I started at 165 and now I'm at 156. Unless you are committed and capable of loosing some weight with out the pill, don't bother wasting your money. ( Reply )

I have been using Orlistat ( Alli) for several weeks and while it is not a quick fix, it does assist in weight loss. The directions are adamant saying it takes work on your part and a low fat , decreased calorie diet along with exercise. There is no magic trick to lose weight . It is work and commitment. I lost 5 lbs in the first 8 days of use. Side effects will take place if too much fat is consumed. It is all outlined clearly in the directions. I like this product. Thumbs up to Alli for me. Glad it is available OTC now and not just by prescription. ( Reply )

I came accross an article that links Alli to pre-cancerous lesions in the colons of mice. According to Dr. Sidney M. Wolfe, director of Public Citizen's Health Research Group, "while it is not known whether these pre-cancerous lesions will lead to colon cancer, he and other cancer experts do not believe use of the weight-loss drug is a risk worth taking." I agree! I would rather find other ways to lose weight than risk my life taking Alli! ( Reply )

My experience on Alli has been great. I've been using it since Nov 2007 and have reached my goal weight. The side effects mentioned by some haven't effected me therefore I have to wonder if the people who have experience discharge, etc were actually following the diet plan or if they continued to eat high fat diets? I will continue to use Alli to maintain my weight. ( Reply )

Hello my friends, I have looked over the comments here and elsewhere. Please save your money on any "pill" for weight loss. The results that I have seen are barely on par with just eating the right foods, getting proper rest and exercise. The answer is not in a pill. It never has been. The pharmaceuticals are making billions a year trying to sell you something to make you feel better or to fix something. The food industry has marketed tons of "quick fix" foods for over 20 years to save you time. They are all in cahoots to make you sick so that they can make you better. And it has been BIG business for a long time. I say "ENOUGH" to these big businesses. Think about it. We all have been "Programmed" by commercials. I say; it's time for all of us to take back control of our lives! Dr. Hyman has written a book called UltraMetabolism. Ultrametabolism: The Simple Plan for Automatic Weight Loss It works! It works, because the information contained in his book explains what different fats and added ingredients do to you. He breaks down nutrition to the core and tells you how to shop for the right foods and what to stay away from. It is going to require an attitude change and lifestyle change. It's going to require planning for the busy household who relies on meals coming out of a box or can; that has a nutrition label on it. My friends; big businesses and the government have not done their job to make us healthy and wealthy and wise. Please do not rely on them! Their goal is to get financially FAT at our expense. I Highly and STRONGLY recommend Dr. Hyman's work to change you life. There is no quick fix on the market. Each of us must take back our lives on our own terms. It starts by becoming educated. Take care each and everyone of you. Colt of Douglas The Workers of Light ( Reply )

I have enjoyed this product. I have used it for a couple months now and have noticed some great results. Without working out I have been able to drop almost ten pounds, just by drinking a lot of water, watching what I eat and taking Orovo. I did not see the results immediately, it was a gradual affect, but I was able to see a boost in my energy level within the first day or two. ( Reply )

I recently purchased these pills and unfortunately I have used them already for a month and have seen no results. I normally eat very well and am pretty active but I have a horribly slow metabolism and therefore wanted to try yet another "Miracle in a bottle" But, these didn't work for me. They do suppress your hunger all day then at night I'm like a raging beast because they make me EXTRA HUNGRY! Bizarre I tell you! I wouldn't recommend these at all. Perhaps just to someone who needs not a lot of weight loss and just wants to eat less! These might be effective for them. As for helping with ACNE, NO WAY!!!! I suffer adult acne due to excessive hormone release and yes, although this is a different scenario, I seen absolutely no evidence that this was helping even the slightest bit! Sorry... Best of luck!!! ( Reply )

I've been on them for 3 weeks and lost 7 pounds. Mind you, I'm doing a lot of strength training and weight lifting so muscle mass is increasing and i won't notice much on my scale but I have on my body. Clothes feel looser. It kills my apetite. I eat only when necessary. Even my urge to smoke has gone down. My friend started around January and has already lost 18 pounds. I have suffered no side effect. I even sleep better. ( Reply )

I've lost 14 lbs. in just under 4 weeks while using this product. This product significantly reduces the appetite and eliminates cravings. I did not have to exercise or change my routine in any way while using this product. I have had no adverse side effects while using Lingzhi. I highly recommend buying this product if you want to lose weight and experience dramatic changes in your diet and body size. I took 1 capsule for the first three days as recommended on the labeling and increased to 2 capsules daily on the fourth day. This product does increase your thirst so drinking the recommended amount of water each day is important, and actually, quite easy to do while using this product. I can hardly wait to reach my weight loss goal with the help of this product! ( Reply )

This product did not work for me at all. If anything it made me bloated and constipated. As for my fiance, he felt no effect whatsoever. We both had figured that this was the boost that we'd need to lose those last few pounds but were disappointed in the end. Great seller to work with! My package arrived quickly, before it was promised. I lost 7 pounds in 2 weeks and my daughter lost 10 the first week. I was a bit spacey the first few days, however, it goes away. This is the real thing, she has the Real- 2 Day Japan Slimming Formula. Do not be fooled by fake offers from other companies this one is real! ( Reply )

I liked this product BUT I think it works as a supplement. I agree it helped control cravings as well as made me thirsty. But it helped me keep my appetite down and portions under control. I have been working out regularly and watching what i eat and I lost about 15LBS in 5-6 weeks. BUT I was dedicated in other ways. But i think it gave me the boost I needed to see results faster. I am very disappointed with this product! I was really expecting to see a difference in my weight after using this product. The only change I found was that it does suppress your appetite. I even used it along with the tea. I saw absolutely no change in my weight whatsoever and I followed the instructions as written on the botlle. I know some things don't work for everyone, so I guess this one just didn't work for me. ( Reply )

The pills helped me eat less and loose 6 lb. I stopped using it because I'm having frequent constipation. Because everybody has different metabolism, it works differently. I know somebody who uses it for 4 months and lost 20 lb. She said before she had constipation. When she begin to use this pill even it helped her have bowl movement every day. Anyway, it's worth of try. ( Reply )

I agree with St. Landry's review 100% and After reading some of the other negative reviews on Amazon, I felt the urge to write an accurate review on Fastin. I bought Fastin in late November from The Vanity Shoppe and have continued to use it to this day. I do eat right on a daily basis, I *do not* have time to work out and *I am* still losing weight ~without~ feeling hungry tired or run down. First, there is no hoodia in the ingredients as stated in the other review. To say it is actually Hoodia is completely false. Read the ingredients label and you will be able to verify Hoodia is not even in the formula and the person that wrote the review must not have read the label either. People should know their info before posting it. Second, to call Fastin a "misnomer" in the same sentence they are calling the product "actually hoodia" should say enough...know your source...do you want to listen to someone that doesn't even know the ingredients? Third, all of us dieters (should) know that we cannot rely 100% on ANY PRODUCT and expect magic to happen, this is just common sense. Fourth, all of us dieters (should) know that we have to be willing to do our part. The other person said they're half way through their bottle. The suggested dosage is 2-3 tabs per day, so they've only been on it 10-14 days and they're already reviewing it? This clearly says insufficient time allowed, very premature to say the least. The individual that wrote the bad review also states they eat "relatively" right...what does eat "relatively" right mean??? On some days you eat right and on other days you go for the triple enchilada special? That will wreck any diet. Maybe "relatively" is why they experienced no weight loss and it wasn't the products fault after all. The other person said they work out too. Well, people who work out can gain weight muscle so if the scale is not budging it could be because they're gaining muscle and not fat/negative weight. Maybe they should check how their jeans are fitting rather than relying on the scale that could be off too. I have three scales in my house, so I have three opinions giving me feedback in addition to how my clothes fit. Just a possibility, maybe they're experiencing a weight loss plateau. Very common among dieters whether they chose to work out or are unable to work out for whatever reason. Been there done that many times and plateaus will not budge until they're ready to budge. Weight Loss plateaus can last for a good two weeks or more. Then suddenly you can see a drop in weight. If you're not familiar with weight loss plateaus, look it up on the Internet. You'll be able to verify this, too. I urge all interested individuals reading the 2 star review from the "relatively" right eater to disregard their review. Give the product a chance for yourself. Maybe it will work, maybe it won't. But, do allow sufficient time. Fastin is a fabulous product that provides lots of energy and appetite suppression without the jitters or shakes. You don't need to feel wired to the max to lose weight. I will say this too, dieters are all individuals and not every product is for every person because we are not all made from the same cookie cutter with the same identical body chemistry. We are "individuals" so different things work for different people. If one product worked for everyone, there wouldn't be so many products out there. If you want to think about this further, there are many different prescription diet pills available via Doctor, too. Does this mean that only one is good and the others are bad? NO! It means, what works for one person may not work for the other person. Just like antibiotics, sometimes you need to try more than one before you find the one that works for you. For me personally, I love Fastin and Stimerex ES. Both excellent products!!! Thank you Vanity Shoppe for helping me with my weight loss!!! You guys are the best and I will continue to buy from you!!! Also, I have never been "forced" to leave a star when writing a review. Anyway, good luck to all of you dieters out there reading this and don't be discouraged by one "relatively right eater." I used this product for one month. The first week I used it I dropped a few pounds and then had to travel out of the country on business. It was hard to watch my food intake and work out. When I returned I had gained weight. I then hit the second cycle of the month supply and lost a few of the pounds I had gained in the travel. I do not know if it would have been a really good product had I worked out and dieted the whole time taking the product. ( Reply )

Product is a scam. Keep your money and try a detox or fat burner from a healthfood store i.e. Bulk Nutrition, BodyBuilding.com, or DPS. Do not waste your money. Oprah should be slapped and sterilized for promoting snake-oil on her show. ( Reply )

With this product you need to eat right, and exercise at least for 30-45 minutes. You should at least exercise 5-6 days a week. The pills are a 30 day supply, and you take the capsules 2 a day. At the end of the month I lost 3-4 pounds. I did not see any difference in my skin at all. With Orovo I notice you pee a lot, and the pill does suppress your appetite. I really didn't find the product give a whole lot of energy at all. And actually I don't know if it was me working out or the pill that made me lose that weight. I noticed I lost some inches, but I don't think I will purchase this item again. ( Reply )

I have been using this product for over a month now. The first few days I noticed a drop in a few pounds. Then there was no drop for the next two weeks. In the last week I have actually gained back the two pounds I dropped and gained one additional. My eating and workout habits have remained consistent. I do not recommend this product! ( Reply )

Ok, I've taken Xenadrine with Ephedra in the past (when it was still LEGAL), and I have never found anything to compare to it... until my co-worker (lets call her FRANCESCA) introduced me to LingZhi from Japan. I read about the different products manufactured and found 3 DAY FIT. Le me tell you, the appetite suppression works just the same as if you were on Xenadrine. The only difference between 3day fit and Xenadrine with Ephedra is that you don't feel like you're on speed!!!! You have to drink lots of water throughout the day of course, and you go to the bathroom (to pee) a lot more than usual, and you get a little hot. (That's cause it's working!) So, buy it, try it out... and write a review!!! ( Reply )

What are some low fat meals to eat while on the Alli weight loss pill?
I love to eat and I hate dieting. Is thtere anything low fat, filling, and god tasting to eat while on the Alli pill?
Whenever you are trying to lose weight, you should concentrate on these three things which all work together in providing a healthier and quicker weight loss goal for yourself. I have found this combination really successful in my weight loss plans. The first thing is exercising and how much you can put forth into it. The more you exercise, the more results you will see. The next thing is dieting and the calorie intake. If you exercise more, technically you could eat more? Always watch what you eat. Now the last step in a good weight loss plan is always a good diet pill that can help you get to the end of the road. I have found Proactol which is a natural herbal diet pill to be the best around. It's an appetite suppressant along with being a fat blocker which stops up to 28% of fat you eat. Read up about it at TheWeightLossPlace .com where I saved money on it. Proactol really works well with exercising which gives you plenty of energy to perform. Along with that you diet will be affected by Proactol due to the appetite suppressant and fat blocker. If you slip up on meals, the fat blocker kicks in. It's really great to stop food cravings. Concentrate on those three things and the combination is deadly for the fat cells in your body. Good luck and I hope this helps.

Has anyone tried the diet pill Alli for weight loss?
I just bought the Alli weight loss pills today -- has anyone taken them? any success?? (and if you did lose weight - how much? how fast?) thanks! :)
pills for weight loss are no good for you. go the tried and true route if you want results that will actually last - exercise a lot and don't eat more than you need. that's the only way you'll lose weight, gain muscle and stay healthy.

Does the alli weight(fat) loss pill work
I want to try the alli pill. i would liek to know if it will show good weight loss results as long as I follow their recommendations of exercise, only 15g fat per and healthy eating. also will the side effects be reduced if I follow the 15g limit? thankyou
The funny thing is, even a placebo would work if you followed all the recommendations of exercise and healthy eating. Free, and zero side effects. Why spend the money to help them pay for all their commercials?

Does Alli (weight loss pill) interfere with absorbtion of prescription meds?
I know it inhibits the absorbtion of fat and wondered if anyone knew if it made their prescription medications less effective. Thanks!
Any pill has an effect and may decrease the effectiveness of medications - your doctor may have to increase your dosage of the medication(s). Talk to your doctor about it :)

FDA News FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE P07-15 February 7, 2007 Media Inquiries: Kimberly Rawlings, 301-827-6242 Consumer Inquiries: 888-INFO-FDA FDA Approves Orlistat for Over-the-Counter Use The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) today approved orlistat capsules as an over-the-counter (OTC) weight loss aid for overweight adults. Orlistat was initially approved in 1999 as a prescription drug to treat obesity, and remains a prescription drug for obesity at a higher dose than the OTC version. OTC orlistat will be manufactured by GlaxoSmithKline under the name Alli and is indicated for use in adults ages 18 years and older along with a reduced-calorie, low-fat diet, and exercise program. "We know that being overweight has many adverse consequences, including an increase in the risk of heart disease and type 2 diabetes," said Dr. Douglas Throckmorton, Deputy Director for FDA's Center for Drug Evaluation and Research. "OTC orlistat, along with diet and exercise, may aid overweight adults who seek to lose excess weight to improve their health." OTC orlistat is not for people who have problems absorbing food or for those who are not overweight. Orlistat helps produce weight loss by decreasing the intestinal absorption of fat. The 60 mg capsule can be taken up to three times a day with each fat-containing meal. Because of the possible loss of certain nutrients, it is recommended that people using orlistat should also take a multivitamin at bedtime. The most common side effect of the product is a change in bowel habits, which may include loose stools. Eating a low fat diet will reduce the likelihood of this side effect. Also, people who have had an organ transplant should not take OTC orlistat because of possible drug interactions. In addition, anyone taking blood thinning medicines or being treated for diabetes or thyroid disease should consult a physician before using orlistat. FDA approved OTC orlistat based on the review of the sponsor's safety data and after submitting the product for the consideration by an FDA advisory committee in January 2006. The committee voted in favor of OTC approval.

Does alli weight loss pills actually work?
Has anyone ever tried the alli weight loss pills? is it very successful? are there any side affects?
It does work. It's kind of gross though. Since the pills block fat absorption, it all has to go somewhere, so instead of taking oil, you end up...leaking...it out. But, it helps you eat a lowfat diet, so that's a big plus to that con.
